Anyone can walk into a shop and buy a black belt, you can even change to another organisation to get a higher Grade. If the only way you can advance yourself is by cheating then you have failed, not only in Martial Arts but in life. To achieve a Dan Grade and wear a Black Belt is a privilege shared only by those of us who have the dedication to train hard and develop skills to warrant such pride. The Youth of today are the next generation of adults. Is it not important to help our children grow into adulthood with self-respect and pride in themselves? Compared to other Sports, The Martial Arts are almost unique in what it has to offers their Junior Students. Other Sports appear to only benefit those students who can excel at that particular sport. Football is a good example, where, if you are not good enough for the team you never get a game and the Student has nothing to show for their training. With a structured grading system in place ALL STUDENTS are rewarded for their efforts. At The Bushido Academies the Student can work towards there own goals and there is no reason why they cannot achieve the coveted Black Belt. All Student at the same Grade train to gather therefore receiving the same attention form their Coach. When the Student reaches the required standard they will take their next Grade. With the Bushido Academies you are not assessed or compared to the rest of the students, once you reach the required standard, set by the World Ju Jitsu Federation Syllabus, you will be put forward for your next grade. You will now appreciate that the Grading System with The Bushido Academies allows all students to achieve their potential and get recognition for their efforts through a measurable Grading Syllabus which is taught by Qualified Instructors. There is no minimum age for a junior to achieve a 1st Dan (Black Belt); this is possible in three to three and a half years with regular training. Normally a student cannot hold a 2nd Dan until they are 21 years old. Junior students who achieve their 1st Dan can work towards their 2nd Dan by additional grades for which they are awarded Gold Tabs. When a Student achieves the required Seven Gold Tabs they are allowed to take their 2nd Dan at the age of 18. The World Jujitsu Federation has a Junior Leadership Award Scheme. This award scheme is designed to develop Coaching Skills within the young student. |
